TENUTA
CAMPO MACCIONE

In 1998, driven by a far-sighted entrepreneurial philosophy, the Zingarelli family landed in Maremma to explore an area where the winemaking tradition has ancient roots. They therefore purchased the Campomaccione estate, in the Morellino di Scansano area: 80 hectares of which about 25 are now dedicated to Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot with modern plantings of 6,000 vines per hectare. The dry, hilly terrain, combined with the area’s warm climate, favours good ripening of the grapes, while the salty air from the nearby sea is essential for the development of interesting aromatic features that are transferred from the grapes to the wine.
