TENUTA
SANT'ALFONSO
The Sant’Alfonso estate, purchased in the same year as Le Macìe (1973), consists of a total of 125 hectares, of which about 33 are planted with vines (Sangiovese and Colorino) and 12 with olive groves. In the Sant’Alfonso vineyard, Sangiovese plays a leading role; the composition of the soils, richer in clay and poorer in stony material than the others, combined with the specific clones of Sangiovese used, favour a greater concentration of polyphenols and aromatic substances in the grapes.
